Readerbear has become my favourite study tool. Using it to track which words I know let's me read for so much longer than I used to because I don't have to spend mental energy dealing with brand new words, just the 'learning' and 'known' ones! And having it sync between all devices makes reading on the go or at home super convenient!

As an active user of other applications such as LingQ and Language Reactor, Readerbear provided a platform that combines both the best features of these two applications at a more affordable cost. Highly recommended for Japanese learners!

Dom, the creator of Readerbear

Hey, Dom here 👋

(the guy who made Readerbear)

I started learning Japanese a few years ago and quickly found that traditional textbooks and formal lessons weren't a great fit for me.

Instead, I learned through content I genuinely wanted to read or watch. It was more enjoyable, easier to stick with, and ultimately more effective.

I couldn't find an app that matched the way I wanted to learn, so I built Readerbear: a simple but effective language learning app designed around learning through real content.

I've used Readerbear in my own daily study, and it's helped me reach a JLPT N2 level in Japanese 🙂
